After more than 60 years of playing and organising badminton matches, Violet (Vi) has decided to hang up the racquets and Dunlop Green Flash trainers for the final time - in Vi’s words “the mind is willing but the body is not”.
Vi started playing at the ripe young age of 15 at the Allan Church in Bannockburn, she quickly advanced to league matches playing in nearly every local league possible including Stirling, Falkirk, Dunfermline & Glasgow, both as an individual and team player. Her achievements meant she won many cups, trophies and friends over the years.
We at the Stirling Badminton League thought that we could not let her retirement happen without some kind of recognition being paid for her services over the years, so we have decided to organise a “Recognition Evening” in Vi’s honour: -
Venue : Stirling Management Centre.
Time-Date: 7pm - 15th March 2014.
Cost: £15 (including Buffet and Disco until late).
